Behavioral & Social Advisory Council

The Behavioral and Social Advisory Council is responsible for advising the Foundation regarding research in the behavioral and social sciences. Its members are internationally recognized authorities in the fields of epidemiology, sociology, psychological sciences, and public health.

The research supported in this area consists of studying factors associated with drinking patterns across the life span from adolescence through retirement and old age, cultural and transnational drinking practices, highway safety, and life-style influences on health. The result of this line of research is intended for developing strategies to prevent the misuse and abuse of alcohol.
