Annual Report 2010
Outstanding Results
As the premier private alcohol research funding organization, ABMRF/The Foundation for Alcohol Research tremendously impacts the stature of alcohol research, and perennially delivers far-reaching results. A little bit truly goes a long way for our emerging investigators pursuing the benefits and detriments of alcohol use. Foundation grant awards – each only up to $50,000 – yield outstanding results by our grantees, often leading them to federal grants of great size, and leveraging the return on the Foundation’s investment into considerable research advances.
Along the way new research labs are launched, careers are promoted, scientific results are published in journals, scholarly awards are received, and extraordinary leadership positions are attained by the former grantees we affectionately call our alumni.
This report illustrates that Foundation grantees are moving alcohol research in new and highly promising directions, thereby helping to secure the future for understanding alcohol’s effects on human health. We dedicate this annual report to the ABMRF grantee for delivering amazing returns on our investment in them.
